TensorBlack and LORAN Media Group brought 100 executives — cancer center leaders, digital health founders and investors — together for two days; findings to be published this fall.
Cincinnati, OH October 01, 2026 –(PR.com)– AUSTIN, Texas — October 1, 2026 — TensorBlack and LORAN Media Group convened the inaugural SHIFT: Oncology Innovation Summit September 25–26 at The Thompson Austin. Admission was by personal invitation only, with the room deliberately held to 100 hand-selected leaders from both sides of the table: chief medical officers and cancer center executives on one, and the founders, digital health CEOs and investors building the tools on the other. Over two days of panels, presentations and Innovation Showcases, they worked through what it takes to move artificial intelligence from pilot to production in cancer care.
“We built the meeting that didn’t exist — small, private, invitation-only, and free of booths and sales pitches,” said Doug Flora, MD, CEO and Co-Founder, TensorBlack. “Our aim is a yearly Davos for the people driving smarter cancer care.”
The summit opened with a fireside chat featuring Peter Clardy, MD, Director, Clinical Enterprise, Google for Health, on what production-grade AI demands of health systems. Faculty included Johanna Bendell, MD, Debra Patt, MD, PhD, MBA, Arif Kamal, MD, MBA, MHS, and Sibel Blau, MD, among others.
Programming ran from morning workouts through evening sessions and spanned clinical validation, operational readiness, reimbursement and governance. In the Innovation Showcases, companies put working tools in front of the executives who would have to deploy them — and answered for how they perform. Every attendee was vetted, and every seat was at the table.
“Healthcare has no shortage of conferences. What it lacks is a room where the people buying and the people building can speak candidly and honestly to each other,” said Abinav Sankar, CEO, LORAN Media Group. “We designed SHIFT around that conversation, and we intend to keep it small enough to protect it.”
SHIFT will convene again the weekend of September 9, 2027, in Park City, Utah, again co-produced by TensorBlack and LORAN Media Group.
